The Centre for Clinical Psychology planned an Orientation Session for Newcomers of BS/MS/SLP/ADCP Session (2025) held on 8th September, 2025 at 09:30am to onwards in a department is designed to help students settle into their new academic environment, familiarize themselves with the department’s culture, and ensure they have all the necessary information to succeed in their program. Here’s a breakdown of common student activities during this orientation session:

Dr. Humaira Naz Incharge and faculty member Centre for Clinical Psychology delivers a welcome speech which involve formal welcome to all of the students. Moreover, Incharge Dr. Humaira also introduced all of the faculty and staff members to the students. She provides an overview of the department’s mission, vision, values, and what students can expect during their time there. Dr. Humaira also shared about the different kinds of scholarships and extracurricular activities available for the students in the department in the upcoming years.

A guided tour around the department's facilities such as lecture and seminar hall, Exam Hall, Testing Lab, Lecture rooms, faculty offices, Computer Lab, Library and other essential spots like the library, cafeteria, and student lounges and the Common room for female students to rest and prayer break. This ensures students know where to go for their classes and other useful resources. Presentations or discussions on services such as academic advising, career counseling, mental health support, tutoring, library services, student clubs, and extracurricular opportunities. This helps students understand where to seek help if needed.

Department staff and Course Coordinators provide a detailed introduction to the academic programs, course structures, schedules, and grading systems. This includes explaining key policies like attendance, deadlines, academic integrity, and different kinds of assessment methods.

Faculty members and key staff introduce themselves, explain their roles, and offer insights into their teaching/research areas and office related tasks. Students are encouraged to ask questions about courses, departmental opportunities, or any general concerns.

Group-based activities like name games, group discussions, or problem-solving tasks to break the ice. These are designed to help students meet and network with peers, especially those they may not have met in class.

To address any immediate questions or concerns new students may have. A session where students can ask any questions regarding the program, department policies, or university life in general. Faculty, staff, or senior students may answer these questions. These activities aim to reduce anxiety for new students, help them adjust to their academic and social environment.
