The Department of Gender Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore, proudly announces that Mr. Muhammad Uzair, PhD Scholar/Research Officer, has successfully defended his PhD dissertation in a public defense held on April 8, 2026.
Mr. Muhammad Uzair completed his doctoral research under the esteemed supervision of Prof. Dr. Ra’ana Malik, Department of Gender Studies. His dissertation, titled “Exploring Gendered Vulnerabilities and Adaptive Capacities in Flood-Affected Areas of South Punjab,” makes a significant contribution to the field of gender studies, particularly in understanding the intersection of gender, climate change, and disaster resilience.
The research highlights the differential impacts of flood disasters on men and women, shedding light on socio-cultural vulnerabilities, adaptive capacities, and community resilience in the flood-prone regions of South Punjab.
